Life as a Mommy - Insight, Advice, and Ponderings of a Typical Mom
by:  Cathy Spigarelli - local author and mom!

This book is an excellent read for mothers.  It is one mother's ponderings of her life with her kids, during a
one year span of time.  Each entry is her thoughts for a particular day.  And each entry leaves you with a
fresh insight, or a word of advice to follow through on with your kids.  This truly can be an inspiration and
a motivator for a mom when she needs it.  There is no plot to follow!!  Therefore, you can read when you
have a chance to do so:  early in the morning, before bed at night, when picking up a kid from school
waiting in the car pool line, etc.  This is exactly the kind of book designed for moms!!  Easy reads - when
convenient - and with the motivations that are needed, and to realize that another mom has a lot of the
same joys, anxieties, frustrations, and celebrations that we all experience!  All of us can relate to Life as a
Mommy!

Mom Testimonials:
I enjoyed the book so much that I had a hard time putting it down.  I kept telling myself "I will just read one
more day", which turned into several weeks.  Most of the entries put a smile on your face and have you
thinking to yourself- I thought only my kids did that or I am glad to know other moms have these same
thoughts!! It is very comforting to know that you are not alone and that your family has not gone crazy, you
are just a typical mom with several children.

I am loving the book!  Your entries speak directly to anyone that has ever raised children.  I especially liked
the entries dealing with the decision to stay at home or to continue your career.  I think too often Moms
judge one another based on this very personal decision, when what we really need is to support one
another and offer help and well meaning advice whenever possible.  All families are different and therefore
the needs and choices aren't the same, but what is constant are the challenges and joys that raising
children bring.  You speak about each of these beautifully. I think it is a must-read for women just thinking
about having children.  A great gift not only for Moms-to-be but for brides.

I pulled myself out of bed and to the computer to tell you that I just finished and thoroughly enjoyed the
book. My son Chris was home sick with a fever.  I was reading your book this afternoon and chuckling to
myself.  Every time Chris heard me laughing he asked me to read to him......... and he was laughing too!

I wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed reading your book, Life as a Mommy.  It has been an
easy and enjoyable book to read whenever I have a few moments or a longer free stretch.  I have
appreciated knowing that I am not the only one with some of these experiences/feelings.  I love the little
lines at the end of each days writing - the thought, advice, tip, idea to ponder......those are great!   I often
feel like we are sitting down together talking as I read the book because you write so openly and
honestly.....

Thanks you for sharing that time in your life with us all......Jennifer

I enjoyed the book very much. I must say that I laughed and cried and could totally relate to a lot of the
drama, tears and laughter kids can bring to daily life. I think the book is very helpful to both new and old
Mom’s.  You are quite an inspiration and I look forward to reading life with teenagers.

One of the best things that I learned is when you talked about Brandon and his not wanting to sit to eat.
Well Walton, who is 15 months has the same problem.  He will eat most things he can graze around the
table but put him in the high chair and on the floor it goes.  I never thought this could continue into the later
years.  I have already stopped letting him graze.  It has been about 2 weeks and we have had less tears and
even a few peaceful means.  Thanks for the insight.
