Life as a Mommy: Insight, Advice, & Ponderings of a Typical Mom
                       About the Author:
Cathy Spigarelli didn't start out dreaming of being a mommy.  Instead, she began
her career as a metallurgical engineer selecting materials for computer disk drives.
She married and then completed a master's degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology.
With a brand new degree and a brand new baby, Cathy found herself at a turning
point.  Setting aside career ambitions of becoming a world-renowned scientist, she
became a full-time mommy.

For the past twelve years, Cathy has enjoyed the life of a stay-at-home mommy
raising her three children: Brandon, 14; Ciara, 12; and Tyler, 10.  But it has also
been difficult.  Living far from relatives that could help in her parenting endeavors,
Cathy struggled with her babies alone.  Eventually, she realized that raising
children was not something she could do alone.  With the aid of countless parenting
books and the help of her playgroup mom friends, Cathy created her own version of a
support system.

Conversations with her fellow playgroup moms inspired the writing of
Life as a
Mommy
.  The issues, feelings, and concerns addressed in the book are all things
Cathy has discussed with her mom friends.  Her purpose in writing this book is to
provide a level of support to all moms.  Having been in the position of feeling isolated
and unsupported, Cathy understands how much moms need other moms.  She hopes
that, through reading
Life as a Mommy, you will feel like a member of her
playgroup and will be encouraged in your role as a mom.
